   Hello sparrow. My favourite forum on the web. I just wanted to share my little early ios christmas present, up for grabs for everyone and anyone who wants it. It is your very own digital pixel pet Robu, who loves to sing and being scratched. I would say probalby it's a mix of inspiration from tamagotchi, mr tengu and one of my favourite ios apps duck. Robu is probably also the only app in the appstore that can die, so take care of him.

   I like the pixel artwork, but the gameplay is quite limited and the sound is very low. I'm sure it wasn't your intent to create something with lots of replay value though. I had to download it just to see what it was like to kill my very first app! Sure enough, after setting the calendar date 2 days ahead of today, I killed the app. Yicks!

   Cheers shilo. Yes, it is quite limited I guess, however it is not really a game and I do not intend to charge for this app. It is just a bit of silly playtime, I think.

   Press the food bar and a burger drops down. Nomnom... it only works if the other bars are high enough.

   I'm talking about the bar with the heart under it. Even with all other bars full, this one won't increase.

   I'm not positive how the life works, but you can always cheat and roll the calendar date back before you first ran the app. :p

   Pretty fun! I really like the art. I wanted to see what happened when he died, so I set the date to Christmas :p It was pretty easy to restore by modifying the NSUserDefaults file though.

   Some suggestions:
   More characters
   More types of food
   Explanation for music
   Tutorial
   Coins based on keeping it alive that you can buy food with

   I don't know how you would do this without a constant internet connection, but it would be cool to make it so that the time setting on device wouldn't break the game.

    @Brian

    You modified the NSUserDefaults by modifying the plist file in your iDevice? What program are you using? I just re-installed the app, lol.

    @Shilo, there is actually a NSUserDefaults plist for each app. It is very easy to access with iExplorer. I think you took the easier route, lol.

    I know how to access the plist, I was just curious about what program you were using. Don't think I've seen iExplorer.

    Cheers for the input Brian. I am always bad explaining my apps. I might make a video when I have time playing guitar with robu singing to show how the music works. Only two more days to work now...

    Interesting about the plist. Did not think about the possibility of changing it at all. Maybe I am to honest for my own good sometimes. Ah, well, if people want to cheat then there will always be a way I guess.

    About how the life works, the calendar was the only way I could think of since I need to determine how long its been since the application was last open... I am sure thouh there are better solutions.

    Hehe, Robu is a cute little guy! What he lacks in pixels, he easily makes up in character

    Very nice side project -- and although it doesn't do very much in the current version, you got a few people interested enough to play with their iPhone clock! Robu is a clock-changing iOS virus actually, isn't it?

    Hehe, I have creates a virus. You are right he does not do much, perhaps there is an update in the future. However, duck as I mentioned before, is a perfect example of an spp that does nothing but I still enjoy playing with it. Anyhoo, I shot a video of me and robu yesterday evening:
