I am creating a game and I am thinking about how I want to implement a title screen menu, level navigation menu, and pause menu.
I am debating about whether to implement these menus using sparrow or a uiview.
So I thought that I would ask the sparrow forum about the pros and cons of each.
I have been using sparrow for quite a while but I am really not all that familiar with iphone programming in general (Cocoa, uiviews, etc...)
The advantages of using sparrow seem to be that I can create custom menus and buttons that match the look of my game. I can also easily animate a pause menu for example by creating custom jugglers, which is very cool.
A uiview on the other hand is very easy to integrate with existing APIs such as gamecenter, facebook, iads. However I don't think I will be integrating any such APIs in to my game. Perhaps creating a uiview is easier, more user friendly, and 'iphone like'?
So I guess I am leaning toward doing everything in sparrow but I also read in another thread that the framerate is pretty high while running sparrow and that it is a bit wasteful in terms of processing power and battery life to use sparrow vs a uiview for a static menu.
